Medicare and the therapeutic shoe bill. What you need to know.
If you suffer from diabetes your footwear and personalized inserts may be covered by medicare’s therapeutic shoe bill. The bill was created to help prevent life threatening complications and amputations.
In order to benefit from this program, you must have medicare part b coverage.
We can provide you with the appropriate form and information required to participate in the medicare program. Give this to your physician to complete and sign. This form must state the following: you have diabeties, and your treatment requires therapeutic shoes and inserts. Please see us we can help you through the process.
Under the shoe bill, therapeutic shoes must be supplied and fitted by a podiatrist, pedorthist or qualified individual. We carry footwear that is covered by the therapeutic shoe bill and we can bill medicare for you.
